Record heat this weekend

This will be the hottest weekend of the year so far with highs from 100 to 105, and a heat index of 105-110. A Heat Advisory is in effect through 7 pm Sunday.

DFW Airport experienced record heat Saturday. The low of 79 was the warmest minimum temperature ever for the date, and the high of 103 tied the record maximum temperature. And Sunday will likely be even hotter, with a record high of 104. Make sure you drink plenty of water and don’t over exert yourself. If you have to do work outside, take frequent breaks. The best times to be outside will be early morning and late evening. Check on your elderly loved ones and neighbors. Please make sure your pets are brought inside, or at least have access to plenty of shade and fresh water.

The hot weather will continue all next week as well, with no hope for rain anytime soon.
