The heat wave continues

The heat wave rolls on this week across North Texas. Highs will be back into the triple digits today. The record high for DFW is 102 and we’ll be awfully close this afternoon. With the humidity, the heat index will be between 102 and 105 for DFW. This is just short of heat advisory criteria for DFW, but a heat advisory is in effect for counties to the east where the heat index could reach as high as 108 later today.

Make sure you drink plenty of water and don’t over exert yourself. If you have to do work outside, take frequent breaks. The best times to be outside will be early morning and late evening. Check on your elderly loved ones and neighbors. Please make sure your pets are brought inside, or at least have access to plenty of shade and fresh water.

The hot weather will continue all next week as well, though temperatures will dip below 100 for several days. And unfortunately, there is no hope for rain anytime soon.
