Less haze, more heat, and a small chance for rain Friday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It won’t be a drought-buster, but there is a small chance for an afternoon downpour Friday afternoon as deeper moisture blows in from Louisiana.

Temperatures Friday morning will start off in the mid 70s and heat up in the upper 90s by the afternoon.

Meanwhile, drought conditions continue to worsen.

While the drought won’t get any better over the next few days, the air quality will. The Saharan dust cloud will thin out significantly by Friday evening and be mostly gone for the weekend. While it’s here, individuals sensitive to the fine dust particles may notice flareups of allergy and asthma symptoms.

Are there any other chances for rain?
There’s also a 20% chance for a shower or thunderstorm Saturday, but it now looks like the rain chance will drop below 20% for Sunday.

How does the weather look for Father’s Day?
HOT! Dad can expect triple-digit-heat under a mostly sunny sky.

Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
There is a little disturbance over Central America with a low chance of development, but all of its moisture will likely stay south of Texas. You can stay informed on everything happening in the tropics all season long with our daily tropical update.
