Isolated afternoon thunderstorms

An easterly wave is moving into North Texas from the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend. It has resulted in isolated showers and thunderstorms across North Texas.

But the emphasis is on “isolated.” No more than 20% of North Texas will actually see any rain at all. Count yourself lucky if you get any rain.

Sunday looks partly cloudy and hotter for Father’s Day, again with a low chance of isolated thunderstorms. And next week appears even hotter, with triple-digit highs expected on Monday for the Juneteenth holiday, and for each succeeding day next week.

By the way, the summer solstice occurs on Tuesday at 4:14 a.m. But it has already felt like summer for a long time.
