Results of Irving City Council runoff

Software developer John Bloch won a seat Saturday on the Irving City Council.

Bloch will represent District 1.

Bloch won 55.8% of the total votes, beating Tony Grimes, a former Irving ISD school board trustee.

According to his website, Bloch is a graduate of the University of Dallas in Irving and has worked in software development for the past 12 years. He currently leads a Dallas field office for a Washington, D.C. based firm.

As a city council representative, Bloch said he wants to preserve the character of Irving’s neighborhoods, provide safe recreational venues for children, fund and support first responders and support businesses.
