No specific day that is a washout, but a chance for rain and storms every day

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Temps are trending down and rain chances are heading up this week! It won’t be a total washout today, but scattered showers and storms are expected. Locations south of I-10 are the ones most likely to see rain, though area-wide storms are possible, especially in the afternoon and early evening. With the extra cloud cover and rain, we should see highs top out in the low to mid 90s.

How do our rain chances look this week?
They look much better than what we’ve been seeing over the past couple of weeks! While no one day looks like a complete washout, each day brings about a 40% chance for rain this week.

Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
A tropical wave coming off Africa has a 80% chance of development over the next 5 days, plus a new potential system is being watched off the Texas Gulf Coast. This system just off the coast has a low chance of development but is expected to send moisture our way this week helping with our rain chances. You can stay informed on everything happening in the tropics all season long with our daily tropical update.
