Scattered downpours possible Saturday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The threat for flash flooding is over, but you could still cross paths with a downpour Saturday.

Once again the day will start with scattered thunderstorms near the coast, but with less moisture in the atmosphere they won’t be come as widespread as in days past. This will allow more of the activity to spread inland toward Houston during the afternoon. Your chance of getting rain is at 40%. Temperatures will warm to at least 90 just about everywhere, but it will cool off into the 70s where it does rain.

What’s in store for the rest of the holiday weekend?
Sunday’s rain chance will drop to 20%, and with even less clouds in the sky temperatures will warm toward the mid 90s. Similar weather is expected for Independence Day. If any storms do pop up, they should fizzle by the evening.

Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
