Stay hydrated! Very hot temps in store for your July 4th

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Get ready for a hot and steamy 4th of July!
Temperatures are expected to start off in the upper 70s before rising into the upper 90s by the afternoon. A few areas are also expected to top 100 degrees. When you factor in the moisture in the air, it’ll make the temperature feel closer to 105.

An isolated shower or two will be possible Monday but most of us will stay dry.

Around fireworks time, we should be looking at mostly clear conditions and temperatures in the mid 80s.

What can we expect for the upcoming week?
Heat! A ridge of high pressure will build back in over us this week leaving us hot and mostly dry. We could see some moisture sneak in during the second half of the week bringing a very slight chance of rain Wednesday through Friday.

Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?

Bonnie has crossed over Central America and is now moving northwest through the Pacific as a tropical storm. At this time, no tropical development is expected in the Atlantic for the next 5 days.
