Still hot in North Texas, but rain chances will return

The ridge of high pressure that has brought heat to North Texas this summer shows signs of weakening a bit this weekend into next week. This will allow daytime temperatures to be not quite as hot as recent days. The high Saturday was “only” 99, and it should be about the same on Sunday. Even better, highs by the middle of next week could be in the mid to upper 90s.

Rain chances this weekend will generally be confined to the southeast and east of North Texas. Rain chances in North Texas will increase though Tuesday through Thursday, as the ridge weakens, but coverage will remain spotty. Wednesday looks to be the best chance for rain in DFW.
