Rain chances diminishing, heat rebuilding

The rain was a welcome sight across North Texas the past two days. DFW Airport finally broke its rain-free streak of 67 days Wednesday afternoon, receiving 0.41.” Some spots had over 2 inches, while other locations only had trace amounts.

Today it’s back to dry and sunny weather. Rain chances will be limited to a few locations to the south of DFW, but the vast majority will remain dry. The humidity will be quite high today with a high in the mid to upper 90s.

The heat will build this weekend with highs back into the triple digits. A hot stretch of 100 degree weather is expected early next week before another possible rain chance late next week. There could be a substantial cold front by then as well.
