Heating back up for the weekend

Hot and sunny weather is in store across North Texas today. High temperatures will climb into the middle to upper 90s this afternoon. The heat index will be close to 100. For those with respiratory issues, take note that an Air Quality Alert is in effect today.

The weekend will be sunny, dry, and hotter with highs close to triple digits. The heat wave will stretch into next week as well before some relief arrives.

A cold front will drop down from Oklahoma late Wednesday. This front will bring a return of rain chances and welcome heat relief. Temperatures will be below normal for a couple days.
