Dallas: Pakistan Society of North Texas, PSNT, is known as the largest representative organization of Pakistani’s in North Texas Dallas. This year, on Sunday, August 14, 2022, they managed to organize the 75th Pakistan Independence Day program in Frisco, Texas.  PSNT celebrate this day every year, as well as this year. PSNT’s announcement was made six months ago. However, recently another Pakistani group, in calibration with Indian radio, has announced another program called “Jashan Azadi” on the same day. This event has continuously been promoted by an Indian Radio, which has angered several members of the Pakistani community. Many say that another group’s intention to hold a program on the same day is to detract the original program of Pakistan’s independence. This then leads to dividing the celebrations of the Pakistani community.

Community members state that, every year, India’s representative organization hosts and organizes one program under its flag. The Dallas Indian community has never been divided in any of these programs. The whole Indian community participates with great enthusiasm and is quite united. However, due to the ill will of some members of the Pakistani community, this community has seemed to fall victim to division. The disunity has brought many members of the local Pakistani community to feel frustrated and angry. The Indian radio is promoting vigorously to divide the Pakistani community.

When contacted, the officials of the representative organization of the Pakistani community (PSNT) stated that PSNT is the largest representative organization of Dallas Pakistanis. They have been engaged in community welfare work for more than forty years. While previously solving many problems of the local community, PSNT continues to perform its services. In the early days of Corona, the organization provided a free food drive to the homes of many members, families and the community living in the DFW area.

PSNT President, Abid Malik, says that they announced this celebration six months ago. He states that they have no objection towards the other program, but it would have been better if they had organized the program on another day. He further states, that these people are their brothers and sisters.

President Abid Malik is requesting our community to be united. He says to come along with your family and friends at the Frisco Embassy Suites Convention Center. Several stalls of various Pakistani products and delicious food will be available for the general public. According to President Abid Malik, a music concert program has also been arranged for your entertainment. This will allow the audience to hear national songs as well as Pakistani songs. Pakistan’s famous well-known singer, Ali Haider, will be present at the event— along with Naeem Abbas Rufi and Malka Faisal, who will enchant you with their voices. The comedian, Faisal Qazi, will also present his full performance to entertain and make the public laugh. Abid Malik claims that the parking and entry is free of cost for the community to enjoy. He says that InshAllah it will be a memorable program, so the members of the Pakistani community should participate fully. The address of the program is as follows:
