Air quality alert in North Texas Friday, typical heat over weekend and rainy week ahead

An Air Quality Alert(Ozone Action Day) is in effect for today. There will be a warmup, today and Saturday, with highs in the mid-90s, but it will be short-lived. A significant change in our weather pattern will lead to a cool and likely wet week next week. Monday through Wednesday feature a good chance of showers and storms with highs in the 80s.

The rain potential across all of North Texas next week will be one to three inches with isolated areas receiving higher amounts.
