A Garland man was arrested Tuesday after police said he had an inappropriate relationship with a student while employed as a teacher’s aide at a Mesquite high school.
Bryan Garcia faces two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
Mesquite police said the department received information Monday about an improper relationship between an educator and a student at North Mesquite High School.
The investigation revealed that Garcia had been communicating with students on phone apps during the spring, police said. Authorities did not provide any additional information about the circumstances around the offenses.
Representatives with North Mesquite High School could not immediately be reached Tuesday night for comment. Garcia no longer appeared on the school’s online staff directory Tuesday.
Garcia did not appear in jail records Tuesday evening.
