A few afternoon storms today, but we’re gradually drying out

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We’re seeing a bit of a shift towards drier, warmer weather as we approach the weekend, but there’s still a chance for some afternoon downpours today.

How do things look as we close out the week?

After a dry start Thursday there’s a chance for a few showers and storms in the afternoon hours. Friday will be mostly dry with a lot more sunshine!

I have outdoor plans this weekend, should I be worried about rain?

It looks mostly dry this weekend, but stay weather-aware as a stray afternoon storm is possible (more likely Saturday than Sunday). All in all it’s a good weekend for any outdoor plans, plenty of sunshine and warm afternoon temperatures in the low 90s.

What’s happening in the tropics?
