Police investigating shooting of motorist in Fort Worth, suspect still at large

A man was shot Sunday evening in Fort Worth while he was driving with his wife, police said.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to a home in the 2200 block of Carruthers Drive, where someone reported being shot, according to Fort Worth police.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound on his right shoulder, police said. The man said he was driving north on East Loop 820 toward Ramey Avenue when they heard several shots. The victim’s wife was in the passenger seat, police said.

The victim told police that he learned of his gunshot injury when he got home. He was taken to Harris Hospital in downtown Fort Worth and was in stable condition, police said.

No suspect is in custody, police said, adding that they are investigating the incident.
