Texas voters polled on Abbott-O’Rourke, abortion, guns, border, other issues

The Dallas Morning News and the University of Texas at Tyler released a new poll Monday that asked Texas voters their thoughts about the November midterm elections, including the race between Gov. Greg Abbott and Beto O’Rourke, and other issues affecting the state.

The poll, conducted Sept. 13-20, surveyed 1,268 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

Voters were also asked about the candidates in other statewide races this November, including Lt. Gov. Dan PatrickAttorney General Ken Paxton and their respective Democratic challengers, Mike Collier and Rochelle Garza, as well as whether they approve of the state’s elected leaders and President Joe Biden.
