Frisco among the best cities in nation for Hispanics and Latinos to thrive, study says

A new study ranked Frisco fourth in the nation for Hispanics and Latinos to thrive economically, using income, homeownership and education information. Two other North Texas cities placed in the top 20: McKinney at No. 15 followed by Plano at No. 16.

The study, released by SmartAsset as Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off, analyzed information from 147 cities using data from the nonprofit Latino Donor Collaborative. The financial technology company had planned on evaluating 200 of the largest U.S. cities, but found only 147 had complete data.

Hispanics and Latinos make up one-fifth of the U.S. population, an increase of 23% since 2010. The Hispanic and Latino population boom helped contribute $2.75 trillion in gross domestic product in 2019, up from $1.7 trillion in 2010, the study said.

The region’s largest cities fell in the middle of the pack, with Fort Worth at No. 51, Arlington at No. 66 and Dallas at No. 109. The top-ranked city was Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Frisco has the highest percentage of Hispanics and Latinos holding bachelor’s degrees, at 41.6%, followed by Naperville, Illinois at 41%, according to the study.

Frisco also has the second-lowest poverty rate in the U.S. (5.2%) and ranked second-highest for median Hispanic and Latino household income at $105,696, with more than half (56%) owning their homes.

The city has ranked highly in other recent studies, being named best place to buy a house and one of the safest cities to live in America.
