Here’s how cool it will get in the morning where you live

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — If you liked Tuesday’s weather, then you’ll like Wednesday’s weather, too!

Temperatures overnight will dip into the 50s across most of Houston and Southeast Texas. Humidity at sunrise will bottom out around 60%, so there will be a crisp feel the air that might have you reaching for a light jacket.

But if you do sport a warm layer in the morning, be prepared to ditch it in the afternoon. Temperatures will rapidly climb to near 70 at 9 a.m., near 80 at 12 p.m., and near 90 at 3 p.m.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a cloud in the sky, and the UV index will be very high between the hours of 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

How cool will it get this week, and how long will it stick around?

Low temperatures for Houston fell into the upper 50s Tuesday and we should continue to see very similar mornings throughout much of this week. Once the winds settle down later in the week, we could see temperatures drop into the mid 50s for Friday and Saturday! Highs will fall into the mid 80s by Thursday. At least the humidity will be low enough to open the windows when the temperatures are cooler during the first half of the day. This pattern of cooler mornings and warm afternoons will stick around all the way through the first few days of October.

What’s happening in the tropics?

We are still closely monitoring Hurricane Ian. It’s no threat to Texas, but it will be a dangerous storm for residents of Florida. It is predicted to be a major category 3 or 4 hurricane at landfall on Wednesday. Impacts to Florida will be widespread, especially Wednesday through Friday.
