Saturday’s high temperature will approach record before cool front

Saturday is going to be unseasonably hot in North Texas, but scattered showers will bring a cool front and fall weather into early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Saturday’s forecast high is 93 degrees. The record high for the day — 95 degrees — occurred in 2015.

However, relief will come soon with the possibility of scattered showers and storms across North Texas beginning late Saturday. Temperatures are expected to drop starting Sunday night, with highs in the 60s and 70s through Thursday.

Lows on Wednesday could reach the low 40s.

The weather service called the cooler weather “the first real front of the fall season” on Twitter.

The weather service said the chances of rain will continue through Monday. However, high temperatures are expected to climb back up into the low 80s by next weekend.

Here’s NBC5′s forecast for the week:

  • SATURDAY: 93/66, breezy and very warm.
  • SUNDAY: 78/58, mostly cloudy with a 70% chance of showers and storms.
  • MONDAY: 68/48, mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers.
  • TUESDAY: 64/43, sunny.
  • WEDNESDAY: 67/49, sunny.
  • THURSDAY: 76/52, sunny.
  • FRIDAY: 80/57, sunny.
