Here’s how morning low temperatures change in the days ahead

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Get ready for warmer mornings ahead as the Gulf breeze returns to Southeast Texas.

Temperatures overnight will still be cool but not nearly as cold as the last couple of mornings. Instead of lows in the low-to-mid 40s, most Houstonians will have sunrise temperature in the mid-to-upper 50s. Humidity levels will be pleasant on Friday, and abundant sunshine will warm highs into the mid 80s.

How does the weekend look?

It looks really nice! Saturday will be just about perfect with ideal humidity. You can expect a morning low in the mid 60s and a high in the mid 80s under a partly cloudy sky. Sunday you’ll feel the sticky air as the Gulf breeze picks up from the south at 15-25 miles per hour. Temperatures will start off in the upper 60s and warm back into the mid 80s under a partly cloudy sky.

When is our next chance for rain?

After the weekend we’re eyeing a cool front and a Pacific storm named Roslyn that will combine forces to bring a chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms. Roslyn’s moisture is expected to blow overhead on Monday to bring widespread clouds and a small chance for rain. We have increased confidence that the front will arrive on Tuesday to lift that moisture and turn it into needed rain. A solid line of showers and thunderstorms is expected along the front, and up to 1″ of rain could fall.

What’s happening in the tropics?

No new tropical development is expected in the Atlantic over the next five days, but we’re monitoring Tropical Storm Roslyn in the Pacific to bring us a chance for rain early next week. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
