Man found fatally shot at Oak Cliff apartment, Dallas police say

A man was found fatally shot at a central Oak Cliff apartment Tuesday morning, Dallas police say.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 5 a.m. in the 3200 block of South Vernon Avenue, near West Kiest Boulevard, and found 48-year-old Clarence Howard lying on the ground in front of an apartment.

Howard had been shot, police said. Police did not say whether Howard died before officers arrived.
