18-year-old arrested in fatal shooting of brother at their Saginaw home

One man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in Tarrant County late Wednesday.

About 11:50 p.m., Saginaw police were called to a home in the 600 block of Oak Hollow Trail, where they found a man a single gunshot wound. The victim, identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office as 20-year-old Daniel Higuita Baquero, was pronounced dead at the home.

Authorities detained another resident of the home, 18-year-old Jony Alejandro Higuita Baquero. The two men were brothers.

After detectives interviewed Jony Higuita Baquero, he was arrested on a murder charge. He was being held in the Tarrant County jail Thursday, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Police did not release any additional information about the shooting.

The brothers were arrested last year on murder charges in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man at their home, court records show. A Tarrant County grand jury declined to indict them last month.
