People concerned about future of coming generations, says Shah Mahmood Qureshi

GUJAR KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said even after passing of 75 years, people were worried about the direction of the country, future of the coming generations, dwindling economy and situation of institutions.

Addressing a rally in Jhelum on Wednesday evening, Mr Qureshi asked participants if they were satisfied with the situation of the country.

He said the former prime minister Imran Khan also needed to request the Supreme Court (SC) for registration of a first information report (FIR), adding that elected representatives were ridiculed and a series of character assassinations were taking place for the last seven months.

The former foreign minister said the government of Imran Khan was toppled through intervention and by purchasing conscience of people, adding that it was thought that the public would accept it.

Talking about the revelation of Umar Farooq about the purchase of Toshakhana items sold by Imran Khan, Mr Qureshi said a drama was aired on television and the record of the claiming person was in front of the people.

Mr Qureshi said people had become mature and had decided to bring change, adding that the PPP was once powerful in Jhelum but now there was no sign of it.

He said the PML-N ruled G.T. Road in Punjab but now the PTI had come forward as a political power in the country.
