Dallas children’s protective agency awarded $10K grant

The Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) has been awarded a $10K grant to bolster essential interview programs and enhance digital capabilities for victims of abuse.

The Texas Bar Foundation (TBF) announced the donation Nov. 22 and it’s the third consecutive year that the agency has received the grant.

Warmer days are ahead as sunshine returns to North Texas.

The funds will support mission-critical forensic interview capabilities and additional smartboard technology for the digital evidence-gathering process.

The grant “recognizes the impact we are maing in our community and on the children we serve,” advocacy center chief executive Irish Burch said. “Forensic interviews are a critical aspect of our work, and this grant from the Texas Bar Foundation allows us to pursue our mission in a more efficient way.”

Since 1991, the DCAC has assisted children and their non-offending family member, today serving over 8,000 annually. The TBF has awarded more than $22 million in grants to charitable organizations across Texas since 1965.
