Police seek help in finding suspect in fatal Thanksgiving auto-pedestrian crash in Denton

Denton police are asking for the public’s help to identify the driver of a car they believe was involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Thanksgiving.

Around 9 p.m. Thursday, emergency crews were notified that a man had been struck by a vehicle near the intersection of University Drive and Bell Avenue. The driver left the area after the incident, according to police.

The man, whose identity has not been released by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office, later died at a hospital, police said.

Investigators believe that a 2007 or 2009 Hyundai Elantra was the vehicle involved, according to police. The car could have damage toward the front of the vehicle, police added.

Anyone who has information about the crash is asked to call the Denton Police Department at 940-349-8181.
