One person died after a vehicle and DART bus collided Saturday night near the Lawnview Station.

DART officers responded to “a report of a vehicle making contact with a DART bus” shortly before 9 p.m., a DART spokesperson said Sunday morning.

The bus was on route 218 when the incident occurred near the intersection of Lawnview Avenue and Scyene Road. At least 10 Dallas police units responded to the scene, according to the department’s active call log, in addition to Dallas Fire Rescue.

The driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the bus operator and one passenger were taken to the hospital as a precaution, the spokesperson said.

DART police are leading the investigation.
