Bitter cold today in North Texas

The coldest air of the year has settled into North Texas this morning. Sub-zero wind chills are in place and a Wind Chill Advisory continues until noon today. By afternoon, the wind will diminish but it will remain below freezing all day.

Temperatures will remain below freezing until Saturday afternoon. It will only be a brief thaw though. More thawing will occur on Christmas day as temperatures slowly climb into the 40s.

Next week will be much milder with high temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
