Woman found dead under Garland bridge Sunday morning, police say

Garland police are asking the public for information after they found the body of a woman under the West Walnut Street bridge on Sunday.

About 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 1600 block of West Walnut Street near Brookside Drive and found a woman’s body, according to police. She was only identified as a white female estimated to be in her late 40s.

Several witnesses told police they saw a woman standing on West Walnut Street looking over the bridge around 1:45 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine the the woman’s cause of death. Police have asked anyone with information that may aid the investigation to contact police.
