Semi truck driver dies in crash on I-635 in northern Dallas

A driver of a semi truck died Wednesday following a crash on Interstate 635 near Hillcrest Road, Dallas Fire-Rescue said.

About 4:30 p.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue emergency crews were called to a crash involving multiple vehicles, including an overturned 18-wheeler, which is in northern Dallas.

The driver of the semi was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. No one else was injured.

Fuel from the semi leaked onto the road, but there was not a fire, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said.

The Texas Department of Transportation is conducting the cleanup of the crash, which caused significant traffic delays on the highway’s eastbound lanes during the evening rush hour.
