Lanes open after 4-vehicle crash on Gulf Freeway sent at least 4 to the hospital, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A multivehicle crash on southbound I-45 sent several people to the hospital in southeast Houston on Saturday, police say.

Houston TranStar verified the wreck at Edgebrook and Clearwood Drive involving four vehicles at 8:31 a.m.

Lanes are now open after drivers were diverted to the frontage road while crews were working to clear the scene.

It is not immediately known what caused the crash, but an investigation is underway.

Houston police said at least four people were transported to the hospital, and their conditions are unknown. No arrests have been reported.
