Valentine’s Day stays warm, but you may see a wet morning

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A weak front will move into southeast Texas Tuesday morning and bring scattered showers. The highest rain chances will be north of I-10, but even where it does rain accumulations will generally run less than a tenth of an inch.

Sunshine should return by the afternoon pushing temperatures close to 80 as the air dries out. You can expect a LOVE-ly evening for Valentine’s Day.

Is any more cold weather coming this week?

Yes! After another mild-to-warm day Wednesday, a cold front arriving early Thursday morning will bring down temperatures through Saturday. On Thursday temperatures may hang in the 50s all day with windy conditions and a cloudy sky adding to the chill. Lows in the 30s are expect for Friday and Saturday mornings, but most of us will likely stay above freezing.

What’s the outlook for the rest of the weekend?

After a cold star to Saturday, temperatures will warm to near 60 under a mostly sunny sky. The Gulf breeze will return by late Saturday, which will bring milder temperatures for Sunday. It will still be chilly in the morning with lows in the 40s, but highs should peak around 70 with a mix of clouds and sunshine. We expect the weekend to be completely dry.

What about the weather for Presidents Day?

It will get even warmer! A strong southwesterly wind will boost temperature all the way up to 80 degrees! Rain is unlikely, but it will feel more like April than February.
