Brief morning showers, very windy today

Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms will push out by mid-morning. As the rain moves out, the wind takes over. Powerful winds are expected to gust over 50 mph today from the southwest.

A Wind Advisory has been issued until 6 P.M. today.

A second and stronger system pushes in by Wednesday evening bringing another round of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could turn severe across parts of our area, especially to the east of DFW. Stay tuned!

Expect colder weather on Thursday and Friday as highs drop below normal, into the upper 40s to lower 50s.
