Driver suffered medical episode before crash that closed 610 West Loop, Bellaire PD said

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A driver is dead after suffering a medical episode while driving, which sparked a major crash on 610 West Loop, according to police.

At about 1:41 p.m. Tuesday, Bellaire police received a call of a crash on the southbound lanes of the West Loop at Southwest Freeway.

Police told that the person’s medical episode contributed to their death. After the crash, the victim was taken to a hospital, where they died.

At least four vehicles were involved in the crash, but no other injuries were reported.
