Mesquite man arrested after another man was found fatally shot in his apartment

Mesquite police arrested a man this week in the slaying of another man found fatally shot in his apartment last week.

Jonah McFall, 23, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the slaying of 32-year-old Ricardo Lawrence, both of Mesquite, police said.

McFall was booked into the Dallas County jail Thursday night on a murder charge, according to records. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

Officers responded to a call Feb. 10 to an apartment complex in the 4200 block of U.S. Highway 80, near East Meadows Boulevard, and found Lawrence’s body.

Lawrence had a single gunshot wound, police said.

Investigators later identified McFall as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. He was taken into custody with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, police said.
