Third suspect in fatal shooting of Lewisville pawnshop owner arrested, police say

Lewisville police arrested a third man in connection with the fatal shooting of a pawnshop owner on Valentine’s Day during an attempted armed robbery.

Police said 19-year-old Damonta Jerone Skinner turned himself in Thursday to Lewisville police. He was booked into Lewisville Jail that same afternoon and faces one count of murder. His bail has not been set, and it was not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

Denyrion Keyshaun Skinner, 17, was arrested Wednesday after he turned himself in, police said. Police had issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for Damonta Skinner and Denyrion Skinner and did not say if the two are related.

Denyrion Skinner remains in Denton County Jail and faces one count of murder, according to court records. His bail is set at $250,000, previously reported. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.

In late February, Lewisville police arrested 18-year-old JaTevon Marquise Johnson on a capital murder charge in connection with the slaying. He remains in the Denton County jail, with his bail set at $1 million, court records show. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

Lewisville police said three armed robbers confronted the owner of the Lewisville Pawn Shop in the 900 block of South Mill Street on the morning of Feb. 14, and one of them shot him. All three fled south toward Interstate 35E in a red Ford Escape.

Daniel White, 54, was struck in the chest and died at the hospital. A GoFundMe page for White’s family has over raised $16,000 as of Thursday afternoon.
