Cold front Sunday will bring some cooler weather

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — After a very warm Saturday, a cold front will move through the area Sunday bringing cooler and gradually less humid weather. Most of the day may stay in the 70s or maybe upper 60s in some areas. We could still see highs around 80 or warmer south of Houston and along the Coast. The cooler weather will continue to arrive Sunday night and into Monday. Temperatures may not reach 70 degrees in some areas Monday.

Remember the time changes early Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m. Spring forward one hour!

Oak pollen levels remain at extreme levels and will likely climb in the days ahead as the wind speeds pick up and rattle more pollen off the trees.

When can we get some rain to help wash away the pollen?

There won’t be much rain in the near future. We may see a few sprinkles or light showers in spots Sunday , Monday, or Tuesday, but most places will stay dry. Oak pollen is likely to stay extremely high. The next good chance for rain could arrive next Friday morning with a stronger cold front.

How will the time change affect the daylight Sunday?

The sun will rise and set an hour later. The new sunrise time Sunday is 7:35 a.m. and sunset is 7:28 p.m.

How cool will it get for Spring Break behind Sunday’s cool front?

Not too chilly. Monday morning may start in the 50s, with afternoon temperatures in the 60s to near 70 degrees. Expect similar or slightly cooler weather Tuesday. The next strong cold front could arrive early Friday, bringing another shot of cool weather next weekend.
