A man accused of abducting his 2-year-old son before Child Protective Services could remove the child from a Royse City home has been arrested, police announced in a Thursday evening news release.
Authorities about 9:30 p.m. canceled the Amber Alert issued earlier Thursday for Jordan Sangbong, whom police said was taken by his father, Daddy Noah Sangbong, 37, of Royse City. Police said the boy was not harmed, “in good condition” and in the care of Child Protective Services.
Sangbong, with the help of his attorney, turned himself in without incident around 8 p.m., according to the release. Around 9:15 p.m., a family member of the child brought him to the Royse City Police Department headquarters.
Royse City police and CPS on Wednesday investigated accusations Sangbong had physically assaulted his 6-year-old son, who was taken into protective custody.
CPS determined that Sangbong’s younger son, Jordan, should be removed from his home, located on Mohan Drive.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, authorities went to Sangbong’s house to remove the child, but he ran away with Jordan before officers arrived, police said in a Thursday news release.
Sangbong is facing a injury to a child charge, police said, related to the incident with the 6-year-old.
