Dallas ISD educator accused of improper relationship with student

A Dallas ISD employee was has been arrested on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and student.

Dallas police took 34-year-old Kaylen Cottongame into custody on Friday. She is listed on DISD’s online staff directory as the athletic director for Hector P. Garcia Middle School.

Police said they received information March 9 that a DISD employee was involved in a sexual relationship with a former student from the district. They did not provide any additional details about the investigation.

It’s not clear whether Cottongame has an attorney.

DISD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
