A few showers Thursday, higher chance for t-storms for part of Final Four weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Gulf moisture is about to push back into Southeast Texas, and that means we get the same cloudy sky with the same small chance for showers. The big difference will be increase in humidity.

Temperatures Thursday morning will start out around 60 degrees, and isolated showers are possible for the morning drive. Shower coverage will increase a little during the afternoon, but any shower you come across should be brief and drop less than a tenth of an inch of rain.

How is the Astros opening day looking for Thursday evening?

We should be mostly dry in the evening with temperatures in the 70s for first pitch at 6:08 p.m. It will be fairly humid and mostly cloudy.

What can we expect in Houston for Final Four weekend?

A powerful storm system will just miss us to the north on Friday, but the tail-end of its front should sneak in Friday night. With a front blowing through overnight, you can expect a humidity and temperatures drop for Saturday morning. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Highs will still manage to climb into the 80s. The front will quickly push back inland as a warm front, which means more humidity returning Saturday night and Sunday. Also, Sunday now looks to bring a higher chance for scattered thunderstorms, and because of the twisting winds along the warm front, severe weather will be possible in addition to some heavy rain. Temperatures will warm from the 60s in the morning to the upper 70s in the afternoon.
