Isolated thunderstorms possible again Wednesday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Wednesday’s weather almost looks like an exact carbon-copy of Tuesday’s weather.

Temperatures will start off cool in the upper 50s, then sunshine will warm temperatures into the 70s during for the afternoon. While the air is fairly dry, there is enough moisture for isolated thunderstorms to pop up late in the day. Any storm that does develop could drop small hail, but all the storms should stay well below severe levels.

Low pressure over the northern Gulf will fling a lot of rain into the coast from Louisiana to Florida, but we will remain on the relatively dry side of the circulation. This will keep our winds out of the northeast for most of Wednesday. The low departs to the northeast on Thursday, drying us out even more. Our next chance of thunderstorms comes with a Pacific cool front on Saturday.

When will the cool front blow in on Saturday?

At this time it looks like the front will blow in during the late afternoon or early evening hours, which will increase the chances that any thunderstorms are on the strong side. An isolated severe thunderstorm capable of producing large hail and gusty winds cannot be ruled out.

How does the weather look for Sunday?

Assuming the front blows through as advertised late Saturday, Sunday *should* be beautiful! We are expecting lots of sunshine, low humidity, and pleasant temperatures with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
