Shooting during robbery in northwest Dallas leaves 1 dead, 1 wounded

Two men were shot, one fatally, in northwest Dallas on Friday night, and police say no arrests have been made.

Officers responded about 9:40 p.m. to a shooting call in the 3100 block of Chapel Creek Drive, near Harwell Drive, and found two people wounded.

One of the victims died at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 37-year-old Adrian Elvir Yanez.

Police said the men were shot when two men attempted to rob them. The department has not announced any arrests.
