Great Religious Fervor and Respect: Mayor and Officials Join Iftar Dinner with Muslim Community

Dallas: In various cities of the American state of Texas, Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) was celebrated with great religious fervor and respect. Ahl-e-Iman (believers) gathered in several mosques including Masjid Al-Farooq and Madina Masjid in Houston, Masjid Al-Makkah, Zia Ul Quran, Dar-ul-Iman, and others to observe the blessings of the sacred night. In Madina Masjid, Mayor of the City of Kirleton Steve Becak, Police Chief Roberto Arredondo, Fire Chief Michael Thompson, and other selected officials participated in the Iftar dinner with over fifteen hundred Muslim men and women. On the occasion, Mayor Kirleton Steve Becak expressed his gratitude to the Muslim community who invited them to the Iftar dinner during the holy month of Ramadan. Scholars including Allama Babar Rahmani and Allama Saraj Musbah highlighted the importance and virtues of Laylat al-Qadr and the series of worship continues in the last ten nights of Ramadan, but on the 27th night, special prayers were offered in mosques along with the completion of the recitation of the Holy Quran. After Tarawih prayers, other worship activities such as Dhikr, recitation of the Holy Quran, Salat, and Tasbih were performed. The reciters of the Holy Quran during Tarawih prayers were rewarded with gifts and sweets were distributed in the mosques. Muslims spent the night prostrating themselves in front of Allah and performing Nawafil, as well as engaging in other worship activities, seeking forgiveness for their sins and praying for the safety and stability of Pakistan.
