Warm week ahead with increasing rain chances at the end of the week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We will start off the work week on a nice note with mostly sunny skies and warm afternoon temperatures.

Highs will rise into the mid 80s with plenty of sunshine. High clouds are expected to move in during the afternoon to evening.

Dry air remains in place through much of the work week but we really start to see a rise in humidity by Thursday which will aid in rain chances for the end of the week.

What does this week look like?

The work week will start just like the weekend finished: Sunny with low humidity and pleasant temps. You’ll feel the moisture levels rise Tuesday as the Gulf breeze picks up, and thunderstorm chances return for the latter half of the week as upper air disturbances roll over the warm, humid air. It will be getting warmer with highs hitting 90 by the end of the week! We also could see heat index values in the upper 90s/low 100s at the end of the week.

Is there any more severe weather coming next week?

It’s possible, but too soon to say at this time. It does look like we may have some increasing instability by the end of the work week but it is too early to nail down the risk, if any, yet.
