METRO bus operator among 11 hospitalized after 2 buses crash near Memorial City Mall, officials say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — About 11 people, including a METRO bus operator, were taken to the hospital when two buses crashed near Memorial City Mall and Memorial Hermann Hospital, officials said.

The crash happened Tuesday at about 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Gessner Road.

The Houston Fire Department told Eyewitness News that 13 people in total were injured with non-life-threatening injuries, but two denied medical help.

It’s unclear how many people were on the buses. Video from SkyEye shows multiple people on a street curb and at least one person on an ambulance stretcher.

Video also shows one of the buses with a broken windshield.
