Morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine

Wednesday is starting off mild with temperatures in the 60s under mostly cloudy skies. There’s a chance for a brief shower to the west of DFW early today, but the rain chance will not affect the metroplex. Clouds will give way to sunshine later today as afternoon temperatures climb into the lower 80s. An Air Quality Alert is in effect for unhealthy ozone levels.

A shift in the jet stream pattern will bring a bit more unsettled weather into North Texas from Thursday through the weekend. There will be daily low storm chances, mainly late afternoon and evening. Most areas will not see much rain given the low coverage of the storms. However, a few severe storms may develop from time to time with large hail and gusty winds being the main threats.

Aside from the low rain chances, Friday and Saturday will be quite warm with highs around 90.
