Breezy and warm with a chance of late day storms in North Texas

A warm, humid, and breezy day is in store for North Texas today. Afternoon thunderstorms could develop to the west of DFW. These storms will have the potential to produce brief downpours, large hail, and gusty winds. By the time the storm chances reach DFW, it will be a broken line, so not everyone will see rain.

The next several days will keep “unsettled” weather in the forecast, meaning storms will be possible. While we’re not expecting a “major” storm system, the jet stream will be favorable for waves of disturbances bringing periods of showers and thunderstorms. Even though these rain and storm chances are in the forecast for the weekend, there will be several dry hours too and it will not be a washout.

Meanwhile, temperatures will be going up. In fact, Friday’s high is expected to be in the low 90s. Weekend temperatures will be well above normal for this time of year.

This pattern will likely last deep into next week with spotty storm chances and plenty of warmth.
