Keep the umbrella handy! More rain is coming this week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Monday morning starts off mostly dry, but we could see more rain move in from the west and then scattered storms will continue to be possible throughout the day on Monday. High temps should top out in the low to mid 80s. Rain chances increase Tuesday and Wednesday.

What can we expect this week?

An active pattern with repeated chances for rain. High pressure to our east keeps moisture in place, while low pressure dropping in from our northwest will bring multiple disturbances. The combination of the two will lead to chances for showers and storms all week long.

What can we expect with the storms?

This week’s pattern supports widespread, heavy thunderstorms, but this does not look like a severe weather setup. Instead, street flooding will be our bigger concern. While there is a daily chance for downpours, the highest rain chances, for now, are centered around Tuesday and Wednesday.

Are any more cold fronts on the way?

It looks like we could have another front possibly move in closer to the following week.
