Mustafa Azizabadi, the convener of the MQM coordination committee, responded to the statements People’s Party and the provincial minister Saeed Ghani regarding the mayoral elections in Karachi, He said that the ideological statements of Altaf Hussain have unsettled the nationalist and fascist government of the People’s Party because Altaf Hussain is the strongest voice of the people of Karachi. In his video statement on Sunday, Mustafa Azizabadi said that Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI alliance seats outnumber the seats of the People’s Party in the mayoral elections in Karachi, and it is a fundamental fact that the majority should also have the mayor, but the nationalist and fascist government of the People’s Party is using its traditional violence, coercion, threats, and financial manipulations to forcefully bring its mayor to power in Sindh and Karachi. He stated that the MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain had mentioned this in his statement that now when PTI has also supported Jamaat-e-Islami for the mayoral elections, it is only fair that they bring their own mayor and the People’s Party refrains from resorting to undemocratic tactics. Responding to the press conference of the leaders of the People’s Party, including Saeed Ghani, in light of Altaf Hussain’s statement, Mustafa Azizabadi said that the panic of the People’s Party ministers over the ideological statement of Altaf Hussain reflects their fascist thinking and policies. Mustafa Azizabadi stated that on one hand, Bilawal Bhutto says that we have ended Altaf Hussain’s politics, but the leaders of the People’s Party are agitated by one statement of Altaf Hussain and Altaf Hussain is riding on their minds. Mustafa Azizabadi said that this is the same policy of the People’s Party that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto pursued till today. Bhutto did not accept the majority of the Bengali people’s representation in the 1970 elections merely due to the lust for power. Even today, the People’s Party is not ready to accept the majority of political opponents in Karachi. He said that due to the People’s Party’s policies of hatred and enmity towards the Muhajir community, the people of Karachi have always rejected the People’s Party. The People’s Party has never been able to win more seats in the National Assembly from Karachi than the Muhajir community. He further said that in the 2015 local government elections, MQM participated under the leadership of Altaf Hussain and had to face defeat in that election as well, and the People’s Party’s mayoral candidate and various chairmen were also badly defeated. He said that due to the collaboration of the traitors of the Mohajir community, the People’s Party is considering carrying out a state operation against MQM. Because restrictions have been imposed on Altaf Hussain, this strategy is clear, and just as he has understood the divisions in all the institutions and local bodies in Karachi, he will now forcefully bring his mayor into power using the government’s power, establishment’s support, violence, coercion, and buying off a few individuals, and he will make the people of Karachi his slaves, but this is his misconception.
