Spotty storm chances again today

The chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms continues once again today. These will be the “pop-up” variety later this afternoon as things heat up.

In the meantime, lingering morning showers will dissipate and allow for partial sunshine before the spotty storms redevelop. Any storms that develop could produce heavy downpours and gusty winds, but are not expected to become severe. Today’s high will be close to normal for early June (upper 80s). There’s an Air Quality Alert in effect for unhealthy ozone levels.

This unsettled pattern will hang on for a couple more days before the rain chances diminish later in the week. Looking ahead, the summer heat is expected to build, especially by next week with highs in the middle 90s coming our way.
